## Short answer
The pptx skill produces and edits real PowerPoint files, with slide layouts, speaker notes and images, from a written brief. It is at its best on structural decks such as status updates and training material. Brand critical decks still need a designer, or the brand-guidelines and theme-factory skills alongside it.

Best for: Internal decks, workshop material and first drafts where structure matters more than art direction.
Skip it if: The deck is a sales asset that has to match a strict visual identity slide by slide.

- The file is a real .pptx, so anyone can edit it without conversion.
- Slide count and audience in the brief matter more than adjectives about style.
- Text overflow is the most common defect. Always open the result before presenting.
- Pair it with brand-guidelines when the look has to match a house style.

## What it changes in practice
Most decks fail on structure rather than on decoration: the wrong order, too many slides and no clear argument. Handing the structure to a skill that also writes the file removes the mechanical part of deck building and leaves you editing the argument.
Speaker notes are the underused half of this skill. A deck with notes can be reviewed as prose, which is far more honest than reviewing a wall of bullet points.

## Where it disappoints
Typography and spacing are the weak spots. Long titles overflow, dense slides stay dense, and the result rarely matches a designed template without help.
Charts embedded from data are workable but worth checking one by one, because a chart that looks plausible and reads the wrong axis is worse than no chart.

## Install and first run
1. Install the document skills, then state the deck's spine: audience, argument order and slide count.
2. Ask for speaker notes as well as slides, because notes are where the argument becomes checkable.
3. Open the file, present it once in full screen, and fix the two or three slides where text overflows.

### Will the deck match my company template?
Not by default. Provide the template or pair it with a brand skill, and expect to fix spacing manually.

### Can it write speaker notes?
Yes, and asking for them is the fastest way to check whether the deck actually makes an argument.

### Can it edit an existing deck?
Yes. Editing an existing file is often a better use of it than generating a new deck from nothing.
